You can observe a series of photographs that have been taken to best indicate what each families quality of life is like. Best yet, you can see how this varies depending on income as each family is linked to one of the four levels of income Gapminder have created. This is shown as a monthly income in the bottom left-had corner of each family photo
Each family introduction informs you of the context in which that family operates. You can then click a link to visit their home.
You can use the filters at the top of the page to visit separate regions or countries or compare two places in one go.
Tasks:
- Explore a range of families homes – choose some that are in each of the four levels of income
- Make note of the key differences you can see in each of the families photographs
- Make a note of the similarities shown in families across different levels of income
- What surprise you most about your exploration? Why?
